He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. Psalm 78:5-7 (NIV)

Well this was a tough one! My in-laws are both gone, and I honestly didn't even take a look at the blog until now. In the meantime, I had made the decision to give my voting decision completely to my husband. I am fiercely independent in my political views, but DH and I share many of them. In the past we have always voted the same, but this time around was very different. I had prayed about the best man and thought I had my answer, but I still could not reconcile much of it or the fact that I would vote against the one my husband would have chosen. Does submitting to your husband include the voting booth?
I stood in that booth and cried. How silly am I? He would never know, and he never insisted on my obedience in this either. And then that still, small voice reminded me of Sarah. I often wonder if she pinched Abraham outside that tent before SHE WENT IN.
I came out trying not to look like I was crying after voting for the person my husband told me to choose. When it was my husbands turn, he came to find out that he had never switched from a non contending party to either the democrat/republican parties. In other words, he could not vote in the primary. LOL! So I gave him my vote. Today, I voted to believe in my God, even when I doubt my husbands decisions. I praise God for a man of prayer and good common sense. I am grateful to have had the chance to serve him, after all he does for me.
Thank you for this wonderfu challenge. It has blessed me and I hope it will bless my husband as well!
